I thought that this looks very interesting maybe ?
I have never seen an HMV with a wooden tone arm before.

Could this have been made during WW-I because of the shortage of brass and steel?
It is very interesting.

Re: HMV 192 with original wooden tone arm ?
It's a standard model 9 (TE TEO, as shown on the paper label) and made in England 1915-1922, not America, where it would have been a Victrola, not HMV. The wooden arm is very clumsily mounted, the base block is partially over the original screws, which would not have happened had this been original, and the whole arm looks definitely home-made.

The original metal tonearm would have had a rear support. I suspect that this broke, and that the wooden replacement was the work of an enthusiastic amateur.

Most interesting.
I notice that the machine has a couple of registered design numbers shown on the paper sticker.
Are these (designs) still available to view somewhere I wonder - like at some government patents office archive somewhere ?

So where's the 192? All I can see is an average table grand with home made arm?

At the risk of stating the obvious, the original poster mistook 192 to be the model number when it is the serial number.

Exactly. The model number is listed to the side of where it says "Reference"
