Tropical HMV 113

Post by poodling around »

I don't know for sure and maybe wrong, but this seems to me pretty much 'as good as it gets' for this type of gramophone perhaps.

Nice piece, but what a price. I'm not sure how the personalized tag adds any value whatsoever? I'd rather have my name on it. lol

As said, what a price! But then again, where are you going to find another one in that condition? If I had a few extra pennies to spare, I'd buy it!

What's with the "May not post to United States" restriction? Don't you like us anymore?

I've been sitting here all morning drooling over this machine, and finally gave in and bought it! I console myself with the thought that I'll never get another chance. The bank balance will suffer, but it's only money, after all!

What an interesting, and thought provoking machine!

I agree with Fran, and he concisely and eloquently expressed it. Peggy, born 1915, was the daughter of British parents living in what was called "the jewel in the crown" of the British empire. Within three years, Great Britain would be at war, and Indian self-rule was on the horizon. What a tumultuous period...and one wonders what stories Peggy could tell. And of course, the condition!

Congratulations to Phono48. Quality endures.
