I'm the fortunate owner of one of these machines here in the United States. They're huge, and it's no wonder why few of them made it across the pond from England.
The one listed on Ebay has the optional doors which cost an additional ten pounds back in the day.

It seems to be missing its pedestal remote control - or were those an option, not supplied with all of them?

The pedestal was supplied with the machine at no extra cost, according to the catalog. It easy to imagine these getting separated from the machine.

Yes, HMV recommended using the "Tungstyle" (tungsten) needle in this machine. I use cactus fiber needles on unworn records with good results.

Technically not a "re-entrant" model as it only has the two chambers similar to a 157 (albeit mounted horizontally). The large (wide) cabinet is needed for the mechanism and the throw of the record placing arm but these have much smaller horns than the large HMV re-entrant models, hence why the market is incredibly niche for the model. I've spoken to collectors of electrical gramophones, radio and early hi-fi and they don't seem to have any interest in them either due to the acoustic amplification. The Automatic models sadly seem to fall through the net with a lot of collectors today.

This particular example is poorly presented with pitifully few low resolution photos and zero description to boot. With a commanding asking price, I doubt there will be (m)any takers.

At least in Germany by Electrola the pedestal had very well costed extra!
The machine itself (only sold in walnut) costed 3500 RM, while the „remote“ costed 110 RM extra.

I don‘t think this is true - the horn in it‘s structure looks exactly as the big Re-Entrant horns. It also sounds very nice, but not as nice as the 203 because of the oddly placed horn to you’re feet.
At least better than any Victor machine.
