I tried to add a picture from the listing, but for some unknown reason I was unable to open the file.

It appears to have both a cutting head for cutting lacquers but also a playback head too. Given its microphone and headphone inputs, I guess it's designed for capturing live sounds "in the field" and sampling playback?

Yes, it's an MSS record lathe, and clearly a portable variety for cutting (or strictly speaking, embossing) discs on location. Designed by Cecil Watts. The Bakelite arm to the left is an Acos GP20 for playback.

Thank you both. With a 99P start and no bids yet, it must be of interest to someone if only as a curio.

It certainly was of interest. It sold for £410.
