This years Phonofair will be taking place on Saturday 28th June 2014 from 08:30 to 13:00 in the Powick Village Hall, Malvern Road (off the A449), Worcestershire, WR2 4RT. (UK)
Conveniently situated between historic Worcester and scenic Malvern, doors open at 08:30 with stalls selling gramophones, phonographs, records, cylinders, books and everything else you can think of plus many things you couldn't think of! There will also be the usual excellent value catering, which is worth the trip in itself.
Admission from 08:30 is £5.00 and from 10:00 is £2.00. Admission is free at all times to CLPGS members - just let us know who you are at the door.
Dealers tables may still be available at £12.00 each, please check with Alan Smith on alan@madal57.plus.com
Hope to see many of you there.

Yes, but you don't mention the drink in the pub afterwards!

That's because I've never been invited!! It's the high-light of the day for many people.
See you all on Saturday

Re: CLPGS: Phonofair on Saturday 28 June 2014
I had a good day among friends at Powick, where the West Country Mob (as someone once described us) were well represented. It seemed less busy than previous years, but those who were there must have been buying rather than looking, as the stallholders I spoke to were happy with the level of business.
On disc I bought everything from Caruso to The California Ramblers, and on Blue Amberol everything from a Cavalry Charge to a Coon Possum Hunt. I never claimed to specialise!
I also delivered a sick motor to a trusted repairer who will have it running sweetly again very soon.
Thankyou to all who helped make the day a success.
Roger.

Great day. Good people, more stuff I can't live without, and a mean bacon roll or two. What more could you want?

As has already been said, it was a great day in great company. I managed to pick a few cylinders I have been looking for for sometime plus a few cylinders I didn't know I wanted until I saw them!
Like Epigramophone, I felt there were fewer people there this time but the traders I spoke to seemed to be happy so maybe the fewer people just spent more.
Retrograde asked for some snaps - so here goes. It was described by someone on this Forum last year as "a bit of a geezer-fest"; well it still is, only more so

Yep, most definitely a geezer fest!
I'm not complaining though. I came away with a fine bunch of Pathé records, a Normar soundbox complete in its original box, HMV accessories, an early fibre needle box made from bamboo, one or two much needed Pathé connectors and finally a Hi-Fi turntable puck / record clamp (which alone would cost far more money new than I spent on everything else I bought this day) for the cost of a sandwich.
