Anyone ever deal with Collector's World-West

Post by Photoj »

I was looking at their machines for sale and was wondering if anyone has dealt with them.

Yes! In 2006 I purchased a Talk-O-Phone from them at a good deal of $ 500.00, it did need some work. I regretfully sold it last September for almost $800.00 :-(

I think they are a good dealer, just my opinion.

I bought my first cylinder machine, an Edison Home B, from them around 2007.

Machine was accurately described, in very nice condition, and carefully packed for shipping.

I would do business with them again.

I too, bought a Talkophone from them a couple of years ago. They let me do a layaway. They pack very well, and are honest and friendly to deal with.

I bought a VV-X Spiderleg and VV 8-35X from Collector's World West. I found Steve to be quite friendly and informative. Transactions went very smoothly. The VV-X and the VV 8-35X both work beautifully and, overall, I'm satisfied with both purchases.

I've bought a few small things from Dan at Union. Nice fella as is his dad. Honestly represents what he's selling.

Do they tend to be slow on the emails? I emailed them a few days ago about machines and have had no reply yet.

This is the week of the Union Phonograph show in Illinois. Anybody that is driving any distance is already on the road or leaving tomorrow in order to be there Thursday to unload. So I would just be patient as you may not hear from some dealers until early next week when the show is over and they have returned home.

I wish I could tell you I've had just as good of an experience as the others here but I've also emailed them twice in the past 6 weeks to ask about a couple Victors and I haven't heard back either. Waves in New York has been the same way. It's hard to buy something when you can't get a response to your questions. I wish you better luck than I've had with them.
