Pentagonal phonograph

Post by phonophan79 »

Pretty wild "pentagonal" cabinet... too bad the acoustic guts are gone.

Interesting cabinet, but I don’t think it’s going to sell for that price.

eBay Item #320357312662

Phonograph and Victrola

Current bid: US $400.00, 0 bids
Shipping: US $30.00
End time: 17 hours, 52 minutes (Apr-10-09 14:52:23 PDT)
Seller: tkitzis (0)

Phonograph inside of a more modern Victrola. Estimated make date is 1905 but we can’t be exactly positive. 42 inches tall, 36½ inches long, 28 inches deep. Has a few minor scratches and one more major chip on the top of the Victrola. No needle or microphone. In pretty good shape considering the age. It’s also missing two knobs but not too noticeable.

I think thats the first corner machine I've ever seem. I wonder if it was a one-off home made or factory order cabinet. It's strange there is no lid stay of any type.
I think their dates at least 15 or 20 yrs out too :)

for a more reasonable price, I would actually try to patch something together....probably not with original parts (God only knows if you could even figure out what they were), but it probably used farily generic mass produced parts most off brands did.
