Make: Lambert Company – Great Britain
Model: Lambert Combination Phonograph – for Edison Standard Phonograph
Serial # S314199
Year(s) Made: circa 1906
Original Cost: 21 British Pounds
Case/Cabinet Size: Base = Height: 11 ¾” Base = 13” x 9.5”
Turntable/Mandrel: Nickel Plated Mandrel
Reproducer/Sound-Box: Lambert Combination: Consists of the Matthews reproducer (with Bettini-inspired spider stylus) and the Rawlinson sound-tight joint.
Motor: Single-spring motor
Horn Dimensions: English spun aluminum 12 ¼” long and 10 ¼” bell
Reproduction Parts: Belt
Current Value: $5,000+
Favorite Characteristics: I like attachments and reproducers that are different than the stock-issue. It is interesting to see how other people tried to improve sound quality and convenience. The Lambert Combination is extremely rare and this machine has been on my want list for many years and I finally have one

What a treat to see such an unusual attachment. I love it. Jerry B.

What a wonderful machine. It's what collecting is all about.

Thanks

Thank you for the comments. The Standard is about the cleanest Model B I have ever seen. There are no flaws that I can see. The machine plays fairly well. There is more bass response, but this is probably from the larger diaphragm. I don't really know how much of an influence the spider makes.

Hi Scott - this is new to me. Is this the same Lambert who offered the pink (and black) cylinder records?

Thanks for sharing it!

What a great setup, I have never seen that before. And to have it on the Standard makes it all the more nicer. Of course when you can find a machine in this kind of original condition it is no longer a common machine. Original pristine machines of any kind in my book are king and tough to find. Thanks for sharing.
Best Regards, Larry

Hi Scott;

Yes it's the same company, but the English subsidiary. The American Lambert Company never made any phonographs.

Thank you Larry. I appreciate that.
