Need advice on cleaning cylinders

I've just bought 11 Edison cylinders at a yard sale. They all look like they're in good shape, but they're all filthy. Mainly it's just dust, but a few spots are stuck on, and a few have mud dauber nests built inside. The records are mostly Amberols, but there's a couple of black 2 minute records that don't seem to have a core material.

How can I clean these without damaging them?

I'd suggest you search the board and the web as this has been discussed many times.
