Orthophonic Reproducer Question

I am looking for information on how to tell a Brass Victor Orthophonic reproducer from one that is made of pot metal. I have heard a few things from other collectors, but am still not clear how the distinction can be made when looking at one. Is there a "for sure" tell tale sign on them?

According to previous discussion here:

pot-metal reproducers have 9-openings on the front with raised lettering on the back while gold/brass have 7-openings on the front with indented lettering.
