Dec 2014 APS Journal

Post by Phonofreak »

I just got my Dec 2014 APS journal. As usual, it's a first class publication. I just skimmed through it. When I have more time, I can read and savor it in more depth. One other note: I tried to post this in Society news, but it isn't allowable to post a new topic, so I posted it here. Keep up the great work.

Those that are not members of APS are missing out on a great resource and a terrific journal. It's only $30 for US collectors, $40 for Canadian and Mexican collectors and $50 worldwide. It's a bargain. Jerry

Mine came today. It's unusual for me to get it ahead of those back east.

It's always fun for me to see the finished, printed magazine. It always looks different -- and better -- than on my computer screen during layout, or in the PDF proof format.

The future may be digital but I sure like good old-fashioned print media.

The guy at the post office that runs over the mail with a truck must have been off yesterday, I'll have to wait another day or five to get my copy.

Kudos to the Newton, NJ post office.
I got my copy yesterday during a snowstorm.
We're having a white Thanksgiving in the Northwest corner of NJ.
Nothing like two children home from their colleges, turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, a roaring fire, and the APS Journal!
Ok, and a little NFL football.
So much to be thankful for.

Went into work today. Train was almost empty so I got a seat, which was nice, but when I got to the office, nobody was there. Weird.

So I went home.

Saw the news about the Journal due to arrive probably today, but the postal carrier hasn't shown up yet. I'm sitting in the window waiting for him, and will let you know when he arrives.
