this is one of those oddities, a rare transitional model/version of the victor monarch special... this one does away with that more ornate MS cabinet but retains the three-spring motor and the name... and then it instead employs the more sedate cabinet of the victor IV (BUT IN OAK - as opposed to the mahogany that all victor IV cabinets were issued in)... I believe this one retailed for about $50 for less than a year around 1903-1905...
