A chain. They suspended it from the ceiling. My thought is the cabinet wouldn't have allowed a crane to be used because of its dimensions.

Hi folks,

Thank you all for your kind comments!

I realized after posting this topic, that I had scanned some of the hundreds of photos we have stored, including several of Sharon's great grandparents -- Sophie (Fischer) and August Balling -- taken at their 1st farm in Warsaw, NY.

I added one of our favorites to the beginning of this thread. I'm not sure of the date.
