Here is a fully restored XVIII fresh out of the shop

Post by Jonsheff »

Well, this one took me 3 months to complete but finally finished. Lots of veneer damage and other problems. I expect this is much like this machine looked when it came out of the Victor factory back in January 1915.

Here is a shot of the 18 next to my personal walnut 17. I am working on a 16 right now, would be great to get a picture of all 3, 16, 17 and 18 together. Hopefully i can get the 16 done before the 18 sells.

Your workmanship is exquisite. To have the knowledge and the skills to bring back a neglected phonograph must give you great pleasure and satisfaction. I know I get both looking at the before and after photos.

Having seen some original photos of these machines which show the sheen on the finish when new, you've done an amazing job. Congrats!

What do you do for the gold hardware? The knobs look nice and bright.
