Don't forget Amet, Wizard, Busy Bee, and Regina.

Right you are, Rich. The U-S Phonograph Co. of Cleveland, Ohio jumped into my mind first. A couple of years ago I began researching Harry B. McNulty and his endeavors into the talking machine industry. He was a fairly industrious inventor in his own right, but was rapidly put out of business by lawsuits brought against him for certain patent infringements.

I thought Busy Bee was actually made by Columbia and fitted with a slightly larger mandrel for O'Neil ?

I believe you're right. I'm not sure how a list of U.S. manufacturers might be interpreted -- because of cross-licensing, and patent infringement, and subsequent litigation resolutions. It would be a very long list, indeed. Think of all the Coin-op manufacturers, for instance.
