Herzog pull - Brass or nickel?

Post by Brad »

I purchased a reproduction door pull for a Herzog 705 (I believe) cylinder cabinet I am restoring. I found one picture online the the door pull appears to be nickel plated (see picture). The door pull I purchased is brass (see other picture).

Questions:
  • Is brass finish correct or is nickel plated the correct original?
  • If nickel plated, Can someone point me to a do-it-urself plating kit? (I thought APSCO sold something but I don't see it online.)
  • If do-it-urself is not not the right way to go, any pointers on where to get nickeled?

A different cabinet, but I'd stick with brass.

Brad,
The cabinet you picture is the Herzog 710, and the brass pull you bought is an excellent reproduction of the original. No nickel plating. You're all set!
