What did you get at the Donley auction?

Post by Django »

I passed on a lot of machines that seemed to go at very reasonable prices, even accounting for the added premium. I bought two horns and a Canadian Berliner. Anyone else find anything special? The Victrola XI and XII with cabinets went for a tempting price, but shipping stopped me from bidding.

I didn't end up winning anything but I was surprised at what I thought were high prices on the cylinders. Especially on the lots that had descriptions of heavy mold black wax.

Congratulations on a great buy. I thought that the Victor A - New Century was one of the bargains of the auction. I briefly considered bidding on it when I saw that it seemed to be going at a great price.

I bought a nipper dog and the style 100 Automatic Reginaphone. Not a bargain price on that one, but when are you going to find another for sale?

Thanks Mlund2020 - I was pretty surprised I got it for $2645 (including the 15% buyer premium, before shipping) - Randy Donley said the motor runs

Nice machine. If I hadn't been focused on other things, I would have been bidding against you. That machine is very cool.

Mike,

Nice additions to your outstanding collection... When will you get them?

Thanks Curt. I still have to arrange shipping. You will have to stop over and check it out when I get it.
