Here is a lazy but serviceable makeshift – one which, after all, could just as well have been thought of 110 years ago when the phonograph as new.

I bought an old music stand and replaced the top section with a suitably bent bar to support my 56" horn. Works well and allows adjustment.

As I have drawers underneath my machines, I have attached chains to the ceiling. It has the nice feature that when you bump into a horn there is no crane to be knocked off.
