Victor Back Bracket Identification

Post by Django »

I have a Victor back bracket with nice, original striping, but I do not know which model it fits. I couldn't pass it up as a "just in case part", but that is not much help when I don't know what it goes to. I was hoping that someone might have a table that lists overall dimensions, features and hole patters. Any clues would be helpful.

Thanks

Just a friendly suggestion but you might get a quick answer if you posted a photo of your spare bracket. I know of no one source that lists the various sizes of all the Victor back brackets. There's quite a variety of back brackets when you consider the early rigid arm models to the late horn machines made into the 1920's.

Sorry for the initial lack of information. The hole to hole dimension is 2.5". The distance from the surface that seats against the back of the machine to the center of the bore for the tone arm is approximately 4". The overall height of casting is approximately 7.5". It is a little alligatored but would present well and has most of the striping. I had no use for it, but the price was right and I hope to use it eventually.

At first glance it looks like a Victor II bracket. Jerry Blais

What's the diameter of the hole that the tone arm goes into? It could also be a bracket for an early Victor I or E.
