Are There Any Pictures Of New Old Stock Machines?

I am interested in the idea of a machine that has been in it's box nearly its entire life and has only just been opened. Are there any photographs of such machines?

I'm not sure that any machine can be considered new old stock, because if they weren't made to order and they didn't sell, the store price was reduced until they sold. That may not be the case for all dealers and companies, so there could possibly be a NOS machine out there. If that didn't work, they would be disposed of. I have seen, and I'm sure you have to, NOS reproducers, accessories, etc. I've even come across NOS 78 record albums that were ordered by mail catalog (still in the shipping package), which were made so you could keep up on the newest Broadway shows or Hollywood productions.

There was this crated Diamond Disc S-19 at Union and covered by George Paul in The Sound Box, both in June, 2010. I don't know what became of it.

In The Talking Machine Compendium we showed an Edison Standard Model B with its $20 paper sticker still intact on the cabinet, and in new condition. Even after seeing a few machines in really, really nice condition (some would call them "mint"), seeing an unused machine in original condition pops your eyes out.

There were some Orthophonic machines found in Texas that were still in the original crates. They had been in some mud and the bottoms of most were affected. But it sure looked like they had never been open. There might have been a dozen or so found at one time. Must be 10 or 15 years ago.

Not a complete machine but parts of a factory which closed in the depression 1932 in Germany= the NOS-Parts of Loopingphon!

It maybe looks like the garbage of an big collector but it is really the collection of the Company! They made special portable gramophones whitch also played upside down - because of that its named Loopingphon!

Well they had better times...
You can't see it on the photos but there were THOUSANDS of parts! Tonearm,motors,locks,lid-holder,fittings and all made by Paillard.

Were these machines any bit similar to the Watchtower portable of the 1940s? The Watchtower had a feedscrew drive and an integrated reproducer/horn so it could be played while walking/being jostled around.

About a year or two ago, there was a VV 1-70 on eBay that sold for either 800.00 or 1400.00, I don't remember but it was new in the crate or box and was never used. So these probably do show up from time to time and are hard to find. Of course it all depends on the condition, how was it stored etc. I would rather have a used machine than a new one that has sat in water or been exposed to the elements.

No the counterweight is holding the needle at the grooves while you turn the Phonograph upside down. It plays in every Position, even Like an vertical record Player. With One of These arms you can hang it on the wall while playing and also go for a walk!
Its like a better Version of the Watchtower but Loopingphon is much more reliable than these paper-mache-aarons, and it was never used by these fanatics
