Hurricane Irma

I know those in Houston are still recovering from the devastation of Harvey, and will be for a long time.

Irma, the most powerful Atlantic hurricane ever recorded, is currently barreling towards Florida, with all models pointing to a potential landfall Sunday.

While our thoughts continue with those in Houston, our thoughts are also with collectors and families in Florida as they prepare for not only potential flooding, but the possibility of significant wind damage as well.

Be safe Florida.

Thanks for your concern. We are right in the center of that cone. People all around here are going all-out to prepare. The last major hurricane in 2005 left us with no electricity or drinking water for 2 weeks, so afterwards I equipped my house with full hurricane shutters, a whole-house emergency standby generator and reverse-osmosis drinking water system, so that we should be OK during and after the storm.

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm right in the path as of now, hopefully it shifts more to the east, a lot more to the east!
