This subject is a road well traveled....
Being an Aries I am honor-bound to provide my opinion:
I can sympathize with both sides to a certain extent. Do I agree with taking a complete & desirable machine and disassembling it to maximize profit? No. However, sometimes it is impossible to sell something even under the break-even point, especially common stuff. Let's face it - we probably all have donor parts on our machines. In a perfect world, these will have come from a machine with a destroyed cabinet or is in some other way not worth saving. You need an Opera gear cover you say? Well guess what...you can't run up to your local Edison dealer anymore. I see nothing wrong with taking already incomplete or junky machines and spreading them to the 4 corners of the Earth to repair or complete the nicer machines in our collections. The fact is, there are more machines out there than we are willing to buy (or have space for). We can't save everything!
