I just picked up this odd early aftermarket reproducer on an Early Victor 6.
It’s interesting in that the needle bar is not connected to the center of the diaphragm, but is spring loaded on a pivot which puts tension on the center of the diaphragm.
The aluminum diaphragm is 2” in diameter and painted black.
It has a tapered mount which snug fits onto the Victor U-tube.
I have replaced the gasket behind the diaphragm and tested it on my Victrola XVI. It plays quite well, very loud and clear with no buzz.
The only issue I can see with this design is the weight. It’s easily twice to three times as heavy as an exhibition reproducer, and would be very hard on records over time.
Cheers, Bob S.

Very cool Bob. Looks like a larger version of the Victor toy reproducer.
