Mystery part on Amberola 1A. Who knows what it is???
I purchased an Edison Amberola 1A in oak, and in the later Pooley cabinet. There is a part in the form of a strut of some kind, and I can't for the life of me, figure out what it's for! This strut is attached to the left side of the cabinet and can pivot around. At first I thought it might be a kind of secondary lid support, but it doesn't do that. Again, I need to call on George Paul, Wyatt Markus, or Uncle Vanya for some insight. Marc.

They all have those. Pretty sure it’s to prop the motor up for lubrication.

Based on the location I would also think it is for propping up the motor board.
