Eldridge Johnson Victor Model B

Post by OctoberHeat »

Found this rarity fairly recently. I'm not real knowledgable on early victor machines (I mostly stick to cylinder machines). I found this and its "barn fresh", as they say. I know the horn, arm, and reproducer look like they are from a Standard talking machine and not original. Its all there otherwise. Any idea on just how rare these style B's are and how much it might be valued at?

Thanks everyone :D

O.k., couple of things here.

It would be helpful to know if it works, and the condition of the original parts. The Standard Talking Machine parts will affect its value also.

Here's a link which you may find helpful:

Otherwise, nice find!

Oh sure thing, here is what I know.
The motor works, but when you place the reproducer down on the record it is too heavy or the motor is too weak to play a record. As far as parts go, I believe everything is original minus the standard talking machine parts. The nut that holds down the record is the only thing I am not sure about.

What a terrific find! I saw a correct leather elbow Victor horn at Wayne yesterday for under $200. So it's possible to acquire the correct parts for your very desirable machine. Jerry B.
