Best way to de-grease a gunky motor?
What's the best way to clean & de-grease a really thick gunky Columbia Grafanola motor? This is the worse example of hard thick heavy black grease I have ever seen! Suggestions?

I've never tried it, but I wonder how a handheld steam cleaner would work. Perhaps it would at least soften the grease prior to removal by other methods.

What about a over night soak in fresh Kerosene?

Medium to stiff bristled paint brush, using repeated applications of mineral spirits.

This is my method of choice for cleaning motors. Leaves no residue. I work out of the cap with Q-tips or toothbrush.
