Brian, it's okay by me to post a shot of a book page occasionally, as long as you mention where it came from - as you did.

Personally, I think this model looks more impressive with its lid closed - what a beautiful monster!

Best of luck with the restoration! :)

George - I agree about the lid - reminds me of the Brooks Automatic in your "Illustrated Compendium"... 8-)

It's sad to see it in such bad shape. It's going to need some work, the sides are chipped away pretty bad and is missing a few wood pieces, and I even think the feet. (Which I have no idea what they look like.)

Luckily it has all the mechanical parts. Which i'm somewhat impressed with the electric motor, being the first one I've worked on.(This machines was truly top of the line.) I even found the tattered remains of the graduola in the cabinet, but it's in such poor shape I think I'll look for a better one. It's missing the weight as well so it doesn't contract.I think i'm going to to have trouble finding the right lid support, it's a pretty neat contraption. When you open/close the lid the light turns on/off.

I really want to try saving it, even with the shape it's in.(Deciding if I should rewire the whole thing or just the broken wiring.) I'm hoping to find an ad somewhere to get an Idea what the grille look liked.

(I'll be deciding if i'll make some posts in the Yankee Trader and tip sections.) Like always I'd appreciate any advice.

You can say that again. It's the size of a tank, I was surprised how large it was.

Don’t the pictures on the first page of this thread help?

It’s a great machine. I’ve been collecting for over fifty years and pretty jaded in what projects interest me. If I had found this machine, I’d be doing just what you’re doing - restoring it. Best of luck - -

I think mine is a bit different. The remains almost have a carved design and it isn't flat. (The pattern looks a bit different too.) But it at least shows another art model grille.

Does anyone have a Aeolian Art Model catalog or brochure they'd be willing to share or go through?

This is sadly the only things I've found even related to my Model.

It looks as if they were aiming for a chest on chest effect.
