I picked this Columbia machine up today. I am assuming that this machine has an aftermarket reproducer and tonearm. The reproducer can be rotated. I assume that this is to switch between playing lateral and vertical cut records. If this is correct, what sort of stylus/needle would I need to play an Edison disc on this machine? Also, can anyone identify the model of this machine? This is only the second Columbia disc machine that I have owned, so my knowledge is lacking here.
Thanks - Mike

You can get a diamond point mounted on a shank to play Edison Diamond Discs. but I do not recommend doing so. Every one of these that I have used has marked and possibly damaged the discs immediately.

I think somebody replaced the tonearm and sound box. Those are not Columbia parts.

The machine looks like a Grafonola Favorite.

Looks like the tone arm is too long. The needle will hit past the spindle. Jerry B.

Re: Columbia Disc Machine with Weird Reproducer
What you have is a Columbia Model C from about 1918 or so. The arm is a swap from an offbrand machine. It is not correct.
