How do you properly rotate the stylus in an edison c reproducer? I have a good idea of how it's done but, wanted to ask if you guys have any tips for me to minimize the risk of damaging or loosing the stylus.
Thank you,
Stephen

Re: Stylus rotating
I have never had occasion to rotate a stylus; but here is how it might be done (consult The Compleat Talking Machine for reference):
. Get a very small pair of pliers, forceps, or tweezers
. Line the jaws with something to cushion them (felt, leather, etc.)
. Heat the stylus bar (removed from the reproducer, of course) to melt the shellac holding the stylus in place.
. Use the pliers/forceps/tweezers to rotate the stylus, until the worn area is safely away from touching the cylinder (120º is recommended)
. Let cool, then re-install.
