The SF Airport Museum announced a new exhibit in the international terminal, to run until next August. It includes coin-op machines of many types. In the very limited online exhibit they show a Manhattan with no legs. In looking closely at the photo I'm convinced this is a 1980s replica.
I know some people who organize such exhibits (I have loaned machines to them in the past). I am going to see if I can get better pictures and (hopefully) a serial number to better judge its authenticity. I'm not sure when I can get down there to see it, but in any case it will be behind glass so I won't be able to study details.

Re: Coin-op exhibit at San Francisco airport
A few years ago there was a similar display in the Frankfurt, Germany International Airport.
The patrolling guards with machine guns discouraged me somewhat from getting a close look.
I hope your experience and viewing will be easier.
