I've never seen anything like this. Looks as if it's meant to go in the corner of a room. As Orthosean said, it might be european, or maybe a clever homemade job.

Those are the only pictures I have. It is at an auction and I just thought it was interesting. I thought someone may have seen or herd of one before. I will try to call the auctioneer to get the name if there is one.
