The stylus on my Edison Recorder fell off and I wanted to ask if this is the correct placement for it. I cant tell if the end of the stylus holder is suppose to make contact with the metal ring that holds the diaphragm or not. There is a notch on the ring for some reason. Thanks

Yes, the end is supposed to go in there and end with the rim. Rule of thumb: The tip of the cutting sapphire should be centered. Yours is a little beyond that point.
