Aurophonic
I picked up this Aurophonic at an antique shop for $8.00 this week. I have tried and tried to do some research on it and have come up with nothing was hoping maybe i could find some information here. The tag on it said 1930's, but that could've totally been speculation. It needs a little work, but couldn't pass up the looks for that price.

Re: Aurophonic
Interesting. Nice little machine.
The broken tone arm mount looks suspiciously like a Victor tabletop Orthophonic one. Could you take some close- ups?
General Industries in Elyria, if I'm not mistaken, also made those cute little Gen-Ola kiddie phonographs.
Nice and unusual machine.

General Industries was part of Otto Heinemann's concern, they made Okeh & Meisselbach motors, and quite a lot more over the years. They were also related to Garford who built the Van-O-Phone.gramophone-georg wrote:Interesting. Nice little machine.

There was a Garford Co. in Ohio (?) who also built big trucks and busses, in the Teens - Thirties.

Re: Aurophonic
I'm wondering if that was made by Prime Manufacturing. I see some similarities between the Aurophonic and the Edison P-1 -- http://edisontinfoil.com/edisonp1.htm
