My late friend Arthur Pare had a Kimball console phonograph. He bought it for $15 many years ago at a second hand store that was in my town of Owego,NY.it was FULL of 78's.edisonplayer

I agree, the cabinet is "walnut". Why the "quotes"? Because Kimball used a lot of faux finishes. I owned a "mahogany" Kimball several years ago. If you ever think about refinishing it, (and I wouldn't because it looks great), be CERTAIN that it's really & truly walnut, and not a faux finish.
