I was not planning to start another thread. However, after receiving a PM regarding the Nipper shown in my Victor type B thread, I was asked to do so. Yes, it is a rarely seen 18" (almost 19") hollow zinc Nipper with glass eyes.
I bought it back in December and have wanted one for many years.
According to our Nipper experts (the Rolfs), there about a handful known and little information on them.
Period photos show these used outside (mounted on sidecars), etc...
Since it is identical to the Old King Cole 18" paper mache Nipper with glass eyes, they must have had some involvement in it's manufacture. Of course this is speculation on my part.

Beautiful! I have hoped to find one of these for years. Super rare.

Both the machine and Nipper are incredible. I remember seeing a similar dog at Union many years ago. It had not been repainted and had very little of its original paint. It seemed like every time someone looked at it, let alone picked it up, a bit more paint came off. The seller very quickly came up with a sign which read "Do Not Touch!"

I wonder how much of Victor’s success was due to Nipper. It didn’t seem to hurt. Great Nipper and Victor B too.
