Any suggestions on how to get this unstuck? I cannot get it to release. Are there any tricks that I am missing?

Hi "T" --
There is a thread about stuck turntables somewhere, with suggestions-- BUT- I assume this is a cast turntable rather than the stamped steel. Don't pry real hard on the edges of the turntable. You risk breaking it. Let all the tension from the spring run down-- remove the governor and then loosen the set screw that holds the spindle shaft to the spindle. Try to remove the whole spindle and turntable from the machine. Then use Kroil or another good penetrating oil where the spindle enters the turntable. Let it sit a couple days-- Then place the turntable on top of a padded vice with the spindle between the jaws and LIGHTLY tap the top of the spindle with a hard rubber or brass hammer. It's a good idea to protect the top of the spindle with a block of wood. See if that gets any movement. You can also try putting the turntable and shaft in the freezer for a couple of days and trying again. But, don't beat on it-- a cracked turntable is not any fun. If you are trying to remove it just to clean under the turntable, then removing the whole spindle accomplished that--You may have to live with it stuck on the spindle.
Hope this helps-

You are correct I should have specified. It is stuck! hahah..I tried to "tap" it lose with a block and dead hit hammer very lightly holding it with no results. I took the set screw out to release the spindle but that would not come out of the top BUT I did not release the governor! I bet that was the problem. Yeah I just want it to come out so I can clean the cabinet real good.outune wrote:It doesn't WANT to come off--or it Won't I was a Behavior Specialist in a large school system.. My limited experience tells me it won't come off only because someone else wants it off!outune wrote:It doesn't WANT to come off--or it Won't I was a Behavior Specialist in a large school system.. I have to ask those questions
Penetrating oil, gentle lifting, and tapping have worked for me.
