What horns appropriate for 1907 model?

Post by VanEpsFan1914 »

Ladies and gents:

My brother and I are conjecturing what horn my new Victor would look coolest with! It's a 1907 Vic III finally arrived from Colorado. As a fixer upper it's kind of impressive, as it's nearly perfect cosmetically. The motor appears to have blown up a spring, tearing up the winding ratchet click spring and stress-cracking the slotted crank. Somebody almost got a phonograph Ford fracture. Well, after that '29 Panatrope, an old Vic ought to be a relaxing and calming project.

Which horn would give best sound and looks on a Victor, and for a 1907 model, what is the stock base-model horn?
Also, what size do I need? It has the original elbow.

Wood is cool but I don't know if I should even consider it now--that kind of horn is worth about as much as my car!

UPDATE:

Never mind. I searched the back pages of the Forum and found some sizes, so off to the internet to purchase a couple horns. I am using a black and brass 24" on the machine now and still trying to get it cranked and running.
