Edison W250 / W19 Database Project

It was suggested by Fran (fran604g) that I start a database on the Edison W250/W19 to try to determine the changes that were made throughout the production of this model (Sept 1917-Aug 1927. This was in response to my previous post which can be found here http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =2&t=35264 Fran has so graciously allowed me to use his question model. If there is anything else that you feel should be added, please let me know. I would really appreciate any and all help and suggestions from members. Thanks so much, Jan


1. Model Designation: (W-250 or W-19)

2. Serial Number:

3. "Official Laboratory" Medallion: Round/Pentagonal/None

4. Exact Wording of the Medallion: Please be precise (Abbreviated signature, for example)

5. Record Storage: Drawer or Door and Cupboard or Vertical Index?

6. Cabinet Wood Type: Mahogany or Walnut?

7. Cabinet Beading above the legs and below the grill? Y/N

8. Cabinet lock? Y/N

9. What is the "Cabinet Factory No." - (if present) as found on the sticker inside the horn compartment none

10. Which finish is on the reproducer, horn throat and other hardware?

a) Gold
b) Edison "Antique" (silvery grey with yellowish highlights, sometimes called "gunmetal")
i) "Antique" with highlights that are spots or other such patterns
ii) "Antique" with highlights that are longitudinal stripes and/or edges
c) Other (describe)

11. Duncan Stop?: Y/N

12. Dealer Tag: Name/Address, Location On Machine

13. Original Dated Sales Receipt/Shipping Documentation, etc.: (Dates are particularly noteworthy):

14. Grille cloth? Color?

Is this data base just for the uprights? I have an Edison William and Mary Console W-33. Something should be added to the questions: Does your William and Mary have the 10"/12" keys?

Just the uprights for now. Maybe we can add the consoles at a later date.

Sorry for the delay in posting this. Another machine I couldn't pass up because it was in such nice shape(of course there are those in not so fine shape that the price wouldn't let me pass up either :roll: Let me know if you need anything else

Is the Antique finish on the hardware type i) or type ii)?
