Found one.

W19
16913
Round
Diamon Disc official laboratory model. Thos A Edison
Vertical
Mahogany
Beading?
Yes Lock
Cab Fact. 22
Antique......long lines
No Duncan Stop
No dealer tag
No sales slip
Pale green raised pattern (barkcloth) Stapled on.....unknown if original?

This was purchased today from a man in Jensen Beach, FLorida. He told me he got it from an estate sale, in Michigan, Aug. 2018. Until then, the unit was in one family since it was new. The pictures show a standard reproducer, I do have the original (Edisonic?) that has the same pattern as the horn throat.

Got this a while ago. A good friend visited family up in Ithaca NY and spotted this being wheeled onto the floor of the local Salvation Army store on a cart. When he texted me a pic and wondered if I was interested, I responded something like "grab it!". My friend's brother tried to wrangle a better deal for me when he pointed out their sign that indicated that "all furniture is half off". But the manager was having none of that. She replied that this Edison wasn't "furniture" it was "electronics". No amount of dialogue was going to budge her, so they paid up, loaded it up, and left. I haven't done anything to it yet, not even cleaned it....

Model designation: W-250

Serial Number: SM-912

"Official Laboratory Model" medallion: round

Exact wording on it:
"The Model 250 Diamond Disc is the Official Laboratory Model. Thos. A. Edison"

Record storage: Drawer with 5 removable wood slats, cheapy wood replacement knob on the front.

Cabinet wood: Walnut

Cabinet Beading below the speaker

Cabinet Lock for lid only (no key -- yet)

Cabinet factory No. 21

Hardware finish on horn throat, reproducer, etc: Edison Antique
type ii---striped effect, see photos, grey overall with brass contrasting bands

Duncan stop? Yes

Dealer tag? None

Original receipt/paperwork? None

Original grille cloth? None, not so much as a thread, the back of the grille is surprisingly clean.

Addendum: As a kid and novice collector, one of my paper route customers told me that they had an Edison at the warehouse where he worked. It was one of these W&M uprights and I was quite enamored of it. This man was of a generation that remembered these machines as new, expensive and top-shelf equipment. He wasn't about to let some 12 year old kid get into it and just tinker away (it had one broken main spring). So I never got it---- and where it ended up afterward, I never knew. Well, it took a bit over 50 years, but I finally got a great W&M upright to call my own. And---no broken main spring!
