Is this a phonograph part?

Post by phonogal »

I found this in the bottom of a VV-XII a long with an extra reproducer. I don't recognize it as belonging to any phonograph but what do I know. I passed up buying a mahogany home because it had a frozen mandrel and a VV-XI table model because I thought they were only uprights. Live and learn. Just thought I'd ask before discarding it.

Agree, it doesn't look like any part from a phonograph I've ever seen.

It looks like the center slot would accommodate a key, so I'm wondering if it's a clock mainspring. If nobody here recognizes it, you might get in touch with "Justin" at this site -- https://timesavers.com/contact.html -- before you toss it. It might be of use to someone.

I am pretty certain this is part of an automatic fly fishing reel: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/automatic-fly-reel

Well I guess I need to add it to the thread about the strangest thing you have found inside a phonograph!
