Caruso's Victrola

Post by GregVTLA »

I was looking at an older topic, talking of the VTM holy grail and I stumbled upon this image. Does anyone know what became of the Caruso Period Victrola pictured here?

I don't know what became of it, but I would hope that it remains in the ownership of the Caruso family to this day.

I just hope it has survived. (To be honest, I wish it were surviving at my house! ;)

I’ve heard stories varying from it being destroyed to still being in the Caruso family. Or maybe it’s in my house... :D

Hahaha Brandon :)
Well in that case, you may also have a tantalizing cache of test pressings of unpublished Caruso recordings he probably kept in there!

Well, you see....it’s haunted by the spirit of Caruso, and when you take a photo, it just looks like a standard Queen Anne XIV. It’s the strangest thing....

If it is still around I'd guess it is with one of Caruso's two grandsons - who I believe are still alive. His daughter passed in 1999. There is also an illegitimate line including Enrico Caruso IV.
