This is a Columbia Model 140 portable . This came out in 1924. Unfortunately, the original price is not listed in my Columbia book. It's a cool little machine, and if the price is reasonable, I would get it. What are they asking for it?

Hi Harvey -- From what I've been able to spot, they were $50.00.

Sounds like the spring is broken near the outer end.ThorOdinson1 wrote:Thank you the machine is listed at $129.00,but theres a problem with the motor 4 winds and then Clank.

If you can talk them down to $100.00 or less, that wouldn't be too bad. Also, check the arm and reproducer fittings because they are pot metal and have the binding problems. Also, check for cracks in the pot metal. The motor is a simple single spring that shouldn't be too expensive to have repaired,
