Was looking on craigslist when I saw this. Its rough, but certainly it is the right price. It looks like an 8-12 to me, but I thought they were only in Mahogany? It looks like walnut to me. Was this a custom order piece? Thanks

Yes, it's an 8-12 Orthophonic Victrola. In the late 20s, mahogany was finished in brown, not red, so it can fool you. I think it's mahogany.

It’s hard to tell but I think it’s mahogany too. Walnut is much more common than mahogany.

The 8-12 is a great sounding machine. It is the first Victrola I bought almost 36 years ago. Someone should get this!!!
