The good thing about the phonograph hobby is that with a very few rare exceptions the fake machines are painfully and utterly obvious as of now. Google crapophone.

Here's a good, albeit brief, primer about Harmony Talking Machines -- https://www.intertique.com/HarmonyID.html

I am self educated in identifying fakes, the brain is amazing, Frederick Douglass and President Fillmore (as much as he sucked) taught themselves to read.

This is a Harmony Columbia Client machine, circa 1909-14. It's hard to tell the condition of the decal in front. The horn has been repainted. Original horns were a blue translucent color with gold stripes. Regular 78's won't fit the spindle. However, Harmony records are fairly common. Nice machine.

Thanks Harvey, yea it’s been restored, the guy I bought it from on eBay said it was and I can tell. Yep, Columbia like pretty much any big corporation was greedy and only wanted people to buy harmony records.

JAS Antiques sometimes offers a straight swap regular spindle turntable for these on eBay.

Snag this... problem solved. You lift the Harmony TT off and slip this one on.
