Just picked up a Edison Standard for $100. Belt is stretched and the on/off lever will not stay off. Is there some sort of friction device that fits under the screw in the middle to stop it from releasing? Thanks

Made a new belt, went to a saddle shop and the owner gave me a yard of leather belt material, once I told him what I needed it for he said no charge, if you ever need more just
drop by. Playing like a champ again.

Now what model Edison do I have? The serial number reads s212494, has a slotted crank with 2-min reproducer. Is this a Model A? Thanks

Yes, it's a Model A. The quick giveaway is the exposed speed control.
