I recently purchased a Bing Pigmyphone. It's in really good condition but sounds terrible. Can the reproducer be rebuilt?

That is a very nice machine... Congratulations. The reproducer can probably be rebuilt, but I have never disassembled a Pygmyphone reproducer, so I'll leave that answer to others...

Congratulations, I love this version of the Pigmyphone with the graphics on the side. I have the more boring yellow version and it's always one of the most popular systems to demonstrate to visitors. Unfortunately the sound quality is poor and I don't think it ever was much better. At least on my Pigmyphone I have not found a way to dismantle the reproducer without destroying it, so I do not think that it can be rebuilt. If there is a way I would be happy to be proven wrong.

It’s pressed together. Make a tool, and pop off the face ring. :)
