This is really not a phonograph stand, but a cabinet that was made well before the phonograph era. I spotted this claw-footed cabinet in a thrift store a while back, and as it was overpriced, it remained unsold for months. After drooling over it on several occasions, I broke down and made an offer, and then I went home with it.
This is a very early piece of furniture - early Empire Period - likely dating to around the 1820's. The claw-feet are awesome, and it makes a great stand for my Edison Triumph Model D1.
Also, thanks to Peter F. who hauled this correct Triumph horn down to the APS show for me, the machine is now complete. (The crane is probably an earlier style but it works, being long and sturdy enough to support this obscenely massive horn).

I approve!!! A nice piece of furniture!!! Just look at the rich wood! It's a small miracle that wood mites haven't gotten to it in all that time!!

Very nice outfit and I like the mid-century pieces I also see. Jerry Blais

This is outstandingly beautiful especially the columns! The doors seems to be cut from the crotch of a tree, fantastic! It looks like rosewood or walnut but what ever it is it is lovely.
