Excelsior cylinder machine?

I might pull the trigger on a local Excelsior cylinder machine, but honestly I really do not know much about them. I hear they are modeled after the columbia Q? It needs a crank, and reproducer. I just wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts or has messed with them before.

Nice machine but is prone to pot-metal damage to reproducer carriage.

Which model excelsior? Excelsior like Edison made a wide range of models.
