I would suggest that you place a "wanted" ad in the Trader section of our Forum. I think you wish to buy a shaved cylinder that is ready to record. Is that correct? Do you already have a four minute recorder?

I would recommend speaking to Paul Morris in the UK, I've bought his recording blanks before and they really are great!

You may want to consider a two minute recorder instead. They are much more common as are two minute wax cylinders. Just something for you to consider.

Brown wax blanks will not work well with a 4 minute recording: they are too soft, and a reproducer would wear them out quickly.
Edison did make special 4 minute blanks for the recorder, but they did not sell very well: they tended to wear down the cutting stylus and shaver blades. Your best bet is to get a 2 minute recorder: if you want to make 4 minute talking records, just reduce the recording speed to 80 rpm. Musical records, however, will not record well at this speed.
