At first glance it looks homemade. Is it made from square stock? What does the end of the crank that comes into contact with the motor look like? I've seen male threaded, female threaded, and slotted. I suppose a fall off crank is a variation of the slotted crank. Some of the early Edison cranks have a square hole that goes over a square winding shaft. Please describe the winding shaft end of your crank. Thanks, Jerry

Hey Jerry,

It is not fancy...its just square. Square throughout from the crank end to the handle. It appears to be brass/gold? The handle is brass and has a round plug in the end, but does not rotate etc it is fixed. It might be home made, I just picked up a project vv-vI and the lady had it with it. Clearly it does not in any shape or form work with this victor, but I am wondering what someone tried/used it with.

Could it be for raising/lowering shopfront awnings? I believe they used a crank mechanism... :?

looks kind of like a blow lever for a large pump organ. They are usually flat iron though.
